We might be tempted to try to do everything that captures our attention while in college but the reality is that we may not have time to do everything. Knowing your priorities and figuring out the things you are passionate about can help you narrow down what you want to invest your time in. You may not be doing everything but you will be doing things meaningful to you! How did you combat FOMO?

Victoria Banuelos completed her undergraduate degree at UC San Diego where she majored in Communications and International Studies. While in school, Victoria was President of the Undergraduate Communication Society and President of the Order of the Tritons as part of the UCSD Alumni Association. She also served in Student Government as Senior Class Representative for Revelle College and was a Resident Advisor. Victoria worked in environmental consulting and commercial real estate and later received her Master’s in Communication Management from the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. She recently published her first book, “First-Gen, NextGen: A Guide to Thriving as a First-Generation Latinx in the Next Generation of the American Workforce” based on her experience in college and the first five years of her professional career, which debuted as an Amazon Hot New Release. Currently, Victoria is the Director of Marketing for ASU Local. Victoria’s higher education journey included going from High School to a 4-Year Institution, being a First Generation Student, Study Abroad (Outside the U.S), and Work-Study.
