Depening on your school, orientation may look a little different but generally, it is a time for info dumps that can feel very overwhelming when you’re taking it all in at once. Take this time to start getting to know some of your peers and make connections you can follow up on after. When necessary, take mental breaks and bring snack so you can get through the long days ahead!

Yumna Samie attended ASU all of their undergraduate career and will be attending UMass Amherst for grad school starting in the fall. For their Undergrad, Yumna double majored in English and Communication and for their Graduate degree, they will be focusing on Learning, Media, and Technology. During their undergrad, they participated in the communication and public speaking mentoring lab, CommLabASU and currently works in academic publishing at SAGE publishing, as a Product Associate. Yumna is a first-generation student and their educational path involved going to a 4-year institution after high school.
