Sometimes you have to take a course to fulfill specific academic requirements, but that doesn’t mean you have to take it with a specific professor! If you’re considering dropping a class, see if there are other courses that can fulfill the said requirement, if other professors are teaching the same course, and ask yourself whether you’re getting your money’s worth!

Yumna Samie attended ASU all of their undergraduate career and will be attending UMass Amherst for grad school starting in the fall. For their Undergrad, Yumna double majored in English and Communication and for their Graduate degree, they will be focusing on Learning, Media, and Technology. During their undergrad, they participated in the communication and public speaking mentoring lab, CommLabASU and currently works in academic publishing at SAGE publishing, as a Product Associate. Yumna is a first-generation student and their educational path involved going to a 4-year institution after high school.
