Even if your parents are not helping you pay for college, the FAFSA form requires their financial information. If you are under 24 with living parents, chances are you are still legally considered their dependent. Figuring out your dependency status is a key part of filling out the FAFSA form, check out Studentaid.gov for a full list of circumstances that would qualify you to be an independent student.
